The Final Regional Event of the SUSRUR OC #2 – INNOVATE Programme took place on 11 June 2025 at Hotel Fenyő in Miercurea Ciuc/Csíkszereda. The event brought together tourism SMEs, experts, and tourism students to jointly evaluate the results of the programme and discuss practical opportunities for developing sustainable tourism in the region.
As part of the programme, participants learned about the benefits of the Green Destinations certification (presented by Júlia Nagy, Innotime Hungary Kft.), received practical tips on online advertising (by Jenő Nagy, OptiBoost) and food photography (by László Olasz, Alpix Visual Studio), and listened to the experiences shared by SMEs participating in the INNOVATE programme.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The SUSRUR (Towards SUStainability and resilient scenarios for tourism SMEs in RUral & Remote Areas) project, co-financed by the European Union, started in January 2023. The project aims to support SMEs in 5 rural and remote areas in Europe - Asturias region (Spain), West Macedonia region (Greece), Harghita county (Romania), Utena (Lithuania), Steirisches Vulkanland (Austria) - by promoting sustainability and innovative practices and strategies, while providing them with tools and skills to strengthen their competitiveness, increasing awareness and capacity to accelerate and implement the green and digital transition.
